Fire at Twice as Nice – May 21, 2012
On Fry Fire District and Sierra Vista fire responded to a reported dumpster fire. A single engine was dispatched and was later upgraded to a commercial assignment. First units on scene encounter a small strip-mall with heavy smoke coming from the rear of the structure. A single engine crew made entry through the front of the business with an attack line, a second engine was assign to the rear of the structure while a ladder truck was in place for aerial operations. Additional units where called upon once the fire self-ventilated and the interior crews were told to evacuate the interior. Fire damage was contained to the original area of the structure while smoke damage was seen throughout the entire strip-mall. On the response were 3-Engines, 2-ladder trucks, 1-ambulance, 2-inspectors, and 4-Chief Officers. Fry Blvd was close for approximately 1-hour during the early morning blaze.
